With the support of the United Arab Emirates, a large clean-up campaign was launched in Abyan to preserve public health


With the support of the United Arab Emirates, the “Cleaning and City Improvement Fund” in Yemen’s Abyan province today launched a sweeping clean-up campaign to lift solid waste and garbage piles in Zanzibar and Khanfar districts under the supervision and funding of the UAE Red Crescent.

Sami Al Muwaqri, Director of Abyan Hygiene Fund, said that the campaign, which is part of the UAE’s emergency response campaign, aims to lift piles of garbage piled in the streets for fear of spreading mosquitoes that cause diseases and epidemics.

Residents of Zanzibar and Khanfar districts expressed their thanks to the UAE and its humanitarian arm for its continuous support to the Yemeni people in all fields, praising the start of cleanliness campaign to preserve public health and protect the environment.
