Iran said that after the resumption of enriched uranium at the main Fordow nuclear facility, the United States today accused Iran of “nuclear blackmail” and vowed not to stop exerting pressure.
A State Department spokesman said: “Iran has no credible reason to expand the uranium enrichment program at the Foldo refinery or elsewhere. Their intention is obviously to use nuclear weapons, which will only deepen political and economic isolation. status.”
Agence France-Presse reported that the spokesman said: “We will continue to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime until Iran abandons actions that lead to instability, including nuclear proliferation activities.”
He added that Iran’s violation of the key commitments made in the nuclear agreement and the expansion of the enrichment of uranium enrichment “is a big step in the wrong direction.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Iran will resume refining enriched uranium at the Foldo refinery near the Shiite holy city of Qom. According to a nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States and five other powers in 2015, the Foldo refinery must suspend uranium enrichment operations.
US President Trump has imposed comprehensive sanctions on Iran to weaken Iran’s regional influence, which is the latest move by Iran to achieve substantial benefits in the nuclear agreement withdrawn from the United States.
The US State Department said it will wait for the verification results of the Atomic Energy Agency to be released. The 2015 Nuclear Agreement requires the International Atomic Energy Agency to strengthen inspections.
